Jeremy Goldstein Helps the Fountain House with Fundraiser

In recent years, millions of people came forward and confessed their struggles with mental illness. Since then, a movement to remove the stigma around mental illness took over our society. Every day, more people come forward, openly talking about their struggles or having to watch someone struggle.

Removing the stigma is most important, as many conditions and struggles have medicine and treatments available. Too much harm is caused by people’s fear of being shamed or thought less of because they’re struggling with an issue. Rather than suffer silently, Fountain House wants to break through the stereotypes, stigmas, and silence.

Helping Fountain House is a slew of supporters and volunteers. One of the most prominent supporters is Jeremy Goldstein, respected New York attorney. In his efforts, Goldstein hosted two luxurious wine dinners to raise money for Fountain House. The dinners took place in May of this year, inspired by the events hosted by Fountain House annually.

Jeremy Goldstein’s dinners occurred on the rooftop of the luxurious NoMad Hotel. All of his guests were fellow prominent New York professionals and socialites. Goldstein also invited J. Finkel and O. Khan, Wine Dinner Chairmen. All counted, Goldstein’s dinners raised over $56,000.

Though he never personally dealt with mental illness, Jeremy Goldstein recognizes that mental illness is a global health widespread occurrence. He works with Fountain House in every way possible, mostly ensuring that the organization is well funded, so they can continue developing and evolving programs that help patients.

The first dinner, which was held on May 22nd, impressed guests who immediately urged Goldstein to host another later that month. The second dinner occurred on the 31st of May and raised $23,000, just $10,300 shy of the first dinner.
