Who is Clay Siegall?

Dr. Clay B. Siegall is the cofounder of Seattle Genetics, Inc. which was established in 1998. He has also been serving as the president of Seattle Genetics since 2000, while he took the position of CEO in 2002. He is also on the Board of Directors in which he is the chairman.

Seattle Genetics is founded on scientific innovations, drug development practices, rigorous research and the zeal to help patients, which is what drives Siegall. Under his leadership, Seattle Genetics has been able to develop ADC drugs for cancer treatment. Also, the company’s ADC technology has been able to get into multi-strategic licenses, which has generated the company over $300 million to date. The technology for Seattle Genetics is already being used by over 20 ADCs which are in clinical development.

Seattle Genetics was able to raise over $675 million through the guidance of Siegall, in their capital raising activities, through both public and private financing. This is inclusive of the 2001 initial public offering from the company.

Dr. Siegall is a Ph.D. holder in Genetics, from George Washington University. He attended the University of Maryland for his undergraduate degree in Zoology. Prior co-founding Seattle Genetics, Siegall has worked with the National Cancer Institute as well as with Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute. Making him a resourceful researcher and expert in cancer treatment.

In his recent posts, Clay Siegall has been looking at different things other than medical issues. In one of his last posts, Mr. Siegall posted a photo of a coyote having a walk in the snow in the national park of Yosemite, California. This was captioned as the picture of the day in Wikipedia. This is similar to another picture of the day by Wikipedia, he had posted which shows a Yogyakarta State University student who had decided to showcase her fashion on Sudirman Street, Yogyakarta, on the New Year Chinese celebration. This attracted a lot of viewers because of the new policy in China of car-free day.

Another of his post brings to attention the new vaccine being administered to kids against flu. The details which are given in National Public Radio, Inc says that this is the best vaccine for kids and though it hasn’t been so effective this year as expected. It has been strong and effective in preventing possible deaths and serious illnesses.
