Whitney Wolfe’s Wedding Creates A Buzz

Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe has the wedding fashion industry abuzz after her weekend wedding to oil heir Michael Herd. The blushing bride walked down the aisle in a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown complete with a lace train and full-length veil. The couple was married at Villa Treville, an elegant retreat perched on a cliff along Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

The secluded venue was decorated with candles, thousands of roses and lemon accents to highlight the beautiful lemon trees encircling the property. Reception guests were treated to gourmet cuisine while they enjoyed sweeping views of the region’s coastal villages.

Whitney changed into a more comfortable, but still elegant pale silk dress for the reception. The bride and groom cut the first piece of an enormous strawberry drenched wedding cake and danced in the candlelit venue.

The newlyweds created a custom wedding hashtag to share photos from the unforgettable evening with family and friends who were not able to attend the nuptials. The tag, #HomeIsWhereTheHerdIs, is a play on the Texan groom’s last name. The couple met on Valentine’s Day in Aspen several years ago and has been inseparable ever since.

Whitney Wolfe’s jaw dropping Oscar de la Renta wedding dress and idyllic wedding venue aren’t the only reasons her marriage is eliciting so much attention. By creating Bumble, Whitney Wolfe has facilitated countless relationships. It’s only fair that someone responsible for so much happiness finds her own happily ever after.

Bumble currently has more than 18 million registered users and over a billion matches have resulted since its inception. Bumble is unique in that it allows women to make the first move while preventing the harassment that is, unfortunately, a common occurrence on other dating sites.

Whitney Wolfe founded Bumble with a mission to empower women in the dating world. Since the company’s launch in 2014, she has done so much more. In 2016 Wolfe launched Bumble BFF, an app similar to the original dating app, except it helps adults find friends with common interests.

Whitney, a graduate of Southern Methodist University, expanded Bumble’s applications once again in 2017 with the addition of Bumble Bizz. Bumble Bizz makes networking easier than ever before.
The Match Group recently tried to acquire Bumble in a 450 million deal, but Whitney Wolfe was clear: the Austin, Texas company is not for sale.
